The Foundation
At the foundation of Doctorado is Agave tequilana Weber var. azul, the Blue Weber agave that has defined the tequila tradition for generations.
Its character provides the beginning rather than the entire story. From the natural identity of the agave comes the foundation upon which the remaining dimensions of Doctorado are built.
Agave establishes the character. Oak introduces another dimension. Balance brings them together.

Doctorado is guided by a simple principle: no single element should overwhelm the experience.
Bright agave character, measured warmth, texture, and the influence of oak are intended to complement rather than compete with one another.
The objective is not excess. It is proportion. Not intensity for its own sake, but an experience in which each element has a purpose and each stage creates room for what follows.

THE INFLUENCE OF OAK
TWO INFLUENCES. ONE PURPOSE
New American oak contributes distinctive structure and depth, while former bourbon American oak introduces another dimension of mature oak character.
Neither is intended to dominate.
Each contributes differently, allowing agave and oak to remain individually recognizable while becoming part of a more complete experience.
The purpose is not simply to introduce oak. It is to determine how much each influence should contribute, and when enough is enough.
